What can I do to help?

Learning assessments  

  • Numeracy (understanding of number, place value, shape, time, using and application of knowledge)
  • Literacy (reading accuracy and comprehension, writing, spelling, phonics, speaking and listening)
  • Langauge (word finding, vocabulary, understanding)
    • Behaviour assessments

      • Anger management, frustration and associated outbursts of violence/aggression
      • Learning behaviours such as concentration, listening skills, retention of information, memory, collaborative working, communication, interaction)
      • Social skills – interaction with peers in class and in unstructured situations such as break times, negotiation skills, social communication skills

          • Attendance at meetings such as IEP reviews, professionals meetings, CAF meetings, mediation meetings

              • Stages of SEN and current government legislation/guidelines
              • Statutory assessments, Statements/Education and Health Care Plans and appeals to SENDIST
              • School behaviour management policies (rules, rewards and consequences, exclusions, Pastoral Support Plans etc)
              • How to get specialist advice regarding appeals, tribunals, SEN legal matters
              • Advice regarding official complaints to schools/governing bodies and Disability Discrimination Tribunals.

                  • Home schooling advice, units of study/teaching plans devised
                  • Advice and support for schools and/or individual teachers
                  • Reading through of paperwork for tribunals, complaints, assessments etc
                  • Attendance at SEN tribunals including Disability Descrimination
                  • Individual tuition provided in school or at my home for local clients.
                    • Services to schools on request including full learning/behaviour assessments, advice on all SEND matters, individual and small group interventions.


A terms and conditions contract will be signed by both parties prior to the assessment starting which will outline an agreed plan for work to be carried out

I can also sign post parents and educational settings to other professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists if it is felt they are needed.
